Reddit in 2025.

In the not-too-distant future, Bob overheard a co-worker chuckling to himself at his desk.
"What's funny?" asked Bob.
"Oh I am just skimming Reddit."
"What's that?"
"Oh it is this hilarious web site. Come look."

Bob wanders over to the co-worker's desk and sees a page with two columns of numbers and nothing else. "I don't get it." Bob said.

"Well the left column counts the votes on a post which indicated popularity. The right column is the actual content."
"But the right column is just numbers." Bob replied.
Oh well Reddit once had all sorts of content from around the web - jokes, memes, commentary, but after a few years everything started getting reposted over and over. A couple years ago, we just numbered all the posts and repost the numbers instead of the actual content. It's much faster."
"Oh. I'll try it." Bob said, and wandered back to his desk. He loaded the web site and skimmed the numbers. He picked a random number, #242, and posted it to the "funny" subreddit.
"Hey I already got one upvote!" Said Bob.
"Just wait." replied the reddit veteran.
Bob reloaded the page and saw, to his shock he saw himself go from one upvote to five downvotes, then fifteen, then 30, then got an orange envelope: "You have been banned from funny."
"What happened?" asked Bob.
"Well, what did you post?"
"#242!"
"Damn it, Bob. No one wants to hear about a goddamn arrow in the knee."
