Jay Z will announce the relaunch of Tidal, his recently purchased and much-hyped streaming service, at 5:00 PM EST today in New York. Stream the press conference below.
In anticipation of the launch, many of Jay Z's superstar pals — including Beyoncé, Madonna, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Coldplay — shared their support for the new service on Twitter. Watch a video promo featuring those artists and more below.
Tidal, originally launched in the U.S. by Swedish parent company Aspiro AB last fall, differentiates from competitors like Spotify and Rdio by offering high-quality 16-bit audio streaming.
The quality comes at a price: $19.99 per month, or twice Spotify's most expensive option. A standard-quality version of Tidal was recently unveiled for $9.99 a month. Unlike Spotify and Rdio, no free version of Tidal is available.
