John Lewis's Christmas Advert Is About A CGI Penguin Looking For Love And People Still Can't Get Enough
Yes, it really is that time of year again already.
This is John Lewis's Christmas advert this year:
It's about a young boy and his pet penguin, Monty. Yes, really.
The 130-second advert shows the pair enjoying themselves together but realising something is missing from Monty's life.
True love.
In the end, the young chap helps Monty find his soulmate, wrapped in a box under a Christmas tree. Obviously.
So sweet.
The advert is accompanied by Tom Odell's cover of The Beatles' "Real Love".

Thanks to the Monterey Bay and Shedd Aquariums , this little girl has a new chance at life.
Meet Pup 681, found alone and separated from her mother on Sept. 30.

After her rescue, she's received "continual, round-the-clock care" from special vet teams at Shedd Aquarium.

“It truly takes a village to rehabilitate a young sea otter. Our animal care team is teaching the pup how to be an otter,” said Tim Binder, VP of Animal Collections at Shedd, in a statement.

And thank goodness! This little girl weighed around 2 lbs., which is "tiny for a newborn sea otter." Luckily, rescuers were able to start giving her the calories and care she needed.

The people who took our poll realllllly do not like Kanye. But they love Billy Joel?
Last week I made a poll asking BuzzFeed readers a very simple question:

I mostly did it out of curiosity, and made all the answers into "sucks" or "rules" binaries because I figured it'd be more interesting to push everyone to make a clear choice. Obviously most people have more nuanced opinions about subjective things like this, but that's not really the point here.
As of this writing, the post has been viewed 210,000 times, and by the looks of it, a bit less than half of the people who looked at the post voted in at least one of the polls in the post. This accounts for a pretty small sampling of BuzzFeed's overall audience.
Some polls were voted in more than others, probably depending on whether people had an actual opinion on the artist and if they just got bored of the post midway through and bailed. BuzzFeed's polls count one vote per browser, but not IP address. If someone clears their cookies, opens an "incognito" window or simply uses another device, they can cheat and vote again.
Let's start with what people loved the most. Justin Timberlake was easily the most beloved artist featured in the post.

What a ballsy move.
A bull that was on the verge of being castrated in Austria on Wednesday retained its manhood by knocking down and injuring the operating veterinarian, according to police.

Perhaps aware of its testicle-less fate, the bovine jumped up "suddenly and completely unexpectedly," sending the 47-year-old vet flying to the ground.
The doctor was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
"As for the bull, I assume he's doing very well indeed," a police spokesman told Agence France-Presse.
