In 2011, the band announced they were "stepping away from the grind of making records and touring for a minute, just to have fun and be creative like we were when we were 15." After the split, Joel and Benji Madden continued to write and release music as The Madden Brothers. Most recently, they helped pen 5 Seconds Of Summer's sophomore album, Sounds Good Feels Good.
